Why Video Marketing is Important

Video marketing is one of the most effective ways to emotionally connect and engage with customers.   Research recently conducted by Marriott found that “marketers need to deliver more than just brand messages.”  Marriott learned that marketers “need to deliver on brand experiences – and video is the way to do it.”

According to data from Kantar Media, in the United States, only 24 percent of national brands actively use video communications to reach potential customers.  Additionally, only 22 percent of American-based small businesses plan to create a web video production or use web video within the next year.

Organizations that are not using web video marketing are missing a tremendous opportunity to engage target audiences.  Video communications play an important role in sales lead-generation, increasing response rates and accelerating the sales cycle.  This is a major reason why 73 percent of B2B marketers are creating video content.  For consumer-facing businesses, product videos can help increase eCommerce sales by 174 percent.

For the Flimp Media and FlimpAgency teams, it is perplexing to learn that web video marketing is not a more widely embraced tactic.  Audiovisual content elicits a visceral reaction that is not easily replicated.  Plus, once produced, video content can be used in a myriad of ways – from website integration and sharing on social media sites such as Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter, and video sites such as YouTube or Vimeo through video landing pages and video email campaigns.
