Flimpbruary Day 19: Use a flimp as Intelligent Digital Collateral

Like most marketing materials, creating audiovisual content requires some commitment.  I think many marketers actually view video as something that can be used in one way.  But like many content forms, there is a lot you can do with video.
Here at Flimp, we are strong proponents of web video marketing.  However, we know that most people think of using online video in specific capacities:  integrated into websites, posted to a video sharing site, promoted through social media, and perhaps distributed via email.  But marketers are limiting the vitality of video if they only visualize using it for a specific tactic.
It is time that marketers start treating the production of video as they would treat the development of other assets for collateral – such as copy and photos.  When an organization commits to a photo shoot, chances are they aren’t using that photograph for just one thing.  That photo may appear on a website, as part of a brochure and even maybe in a video.  There is no reason why video can’t be treated the same way.
Today we’re focusing on Intelligent Digital Collateral (IDC).  We wrote about Intelligent Digital Collateral last November.  IDC is

a form of digital marketing or sales collateral that uses rich multimedia content to engage viewers, incorporates interactive calls to action within the collateral, and tracks/reports viewer engagement and responses in detail and by an individual viewer identifier.

A flimp video landing page can easily serve as an IDC.  Even better, you can take a flimp and integrate it into other content, such as a press release or a PDF, enabling those materials to serve as an IDC.
Here are examples of how Flimp Media integrates flimps into our sales collateral, effectively turning the collateral into IDC:

IDC is especially optimal for B2B marketing situations.  This tactic extends how the video is used, extending the ROI for the video’s production.
