Flimpbruary Day 18: Use a flimp for public relations outreach

Last month, we wrote the “Don’t Pitch It: Vitch It” post about using a flimp video landing page (VLP) for media relations.  Today, we’re expanding a bit to focus on how flimps can be used as part of a public relations campaign.
First and foremost, a flimp can play an integral part in “vitches” (online video media pitches).  A flimp VLP vitch could include the following elements:
  • Online video content
  • Contact information / corporate (client) branding
  • Brief message
  • Links to pertinent content – press releases, fact sheets, corporate bios

Remember – pitches (vitches) can be dual serving.  They can be sent to media contacts or they can be created on behalf of a company or client to introduce products/services to key constituents.
Flimps can also serve as a full-blown media kit.  Since a flimp can link to a flimp, this could be an easy way to digitalize media kit content without relying on the services of a web designer/web developer.  Plus, from a master control level, if you have a number of media kits out there in the world and you have to update information, flimps make it easy to update information. Once the flimp has been edited and the edits have been saved, every version of the flimp will contain the new information.  This is a very easy way to deal with outdated content.
Understanding that PR practitioners do a lot more than media relations, flimps also make it easy to share content via social networking and also optimize content for SEO purposes.
Recognizing that many PR pros also generate blog content, a plain ole regular flimp can liven up a standard blog post.
Jumping ahead to tomorrow’s post on Intelligent Digital Collateral, here at Flimp Media we don’t just talk the talk. . .we walk it.  We regularly feature flimps in our press releases.
