2014 Online Video Marketing Survey And Business Trends Report

Flimp Media in conjunction with the Web Video Marketing Council, has released the results of the third annual 2014 Online Video Marketing Survey and Business Video Trends Report.  The 2014 survey consisted of twenty-two questions about online video production and video marketing practices compiled from over 600 marketing and business survey respondents.

Respondents represented a wide range of industry sectors and company sizes including:

52 percent work for B2B companies

22.9 percent work for B2C companies

21.0 percent work for marketing or communications agencies

4.0 percent work for not-for-profit organizations

Eighty-four percent of respondents indicated they have decision-making authority over marketing / communications activities.  The title / role of respondents included:

Owner or senior manager (56 percent)

VP, Director or Manager (22 percent)

Creative Director / Creative Team (11 percent)

The 2014 survey covered a wide range of video marketing, sales and communications-related topics including the number of videos produced, types of video content created, how companies are using video marketing and communications, and the factors holding back more web video marketing initiatives.  Ninety-three percent of organizations are engaged with video marketing related activities.  This is a significant increase compared to the 2013 survey, in which 84 percent indicated they were actively using video for marketing purposes.

Budgets for video content marketing increased 70 percent between the 2013 and 2014 surveys.  Video is being used for a range of marketing activities including website marketing, online video advertising, video email marketing, sales lead generation, social media, and Video SEO.
